Kick up the spice with this scrumptious steak salad, full of fresh veggies and drizzled with a homemade cilantro-lime dressing! It’s the best steak salad I've EVER made (or eaten). Served with dry roasted unsalted peanuts, this meal was absolutely mouthwatering. I don't cook Asian dishes often – I'm always trying to learn, and I think this was a step in the right direction! I can't wait to serve this the next time we have spice-loving friends over for a scrumptious dinner!

Ingredients

  • 4 Red chilies

  • 2 Green onions

  • 1/2 cup Thinly sliced shallot

  • 3 cups Total mixed fresh mint

  • 1 tsp. Toasted rice powder

  • 1 tsp. Sugar

  • 2 tbsp. Fish sauce

  • 2 tbsp. Fresh lime juice

  • Black pepper

  • 10 oz. Beef sirloin

Method

  • 01
Heat your grill to medium high or Combine the lime juice, fish sauce, sugar and toasted rice powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • 02
Toss the mixed herbs/greens, shallot, green onions and red chilies in a bowl large enough to hold all the ingredients.
  • 03
Season the beef liberally with black pepper (I like butcher's grind but go with what you like).
  • 04
Grill the beef to medium rare (130℉).
  • 05
Let the beef rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain.
  • 06
Toss the beef in a clean bowl with the lime/fish sauce dressing.
  • 07
Add the beef and any dressing to the bowl containing the salad and toss.
  • 08
Sprinkle with a bit more red chili if you like.
  • 09
    Serve.
