The chicken cooks quickly and it’s super lean and filling, but guess what? “The other white meat” is just as good! Pork chops and a creamy mushroom sauce is one perfect cozy meal. Simple skillet meal with sauteed mushrooms in heavy cream. This filling meal is a perfect 30-minute mid-week meal. Which is probably why I like this Pork Chops Mushroom Cream Sauce recipe so much too! I’ve made this dish three times in the past month, except each time I use a different cut of meat; chicken, beef, and now pork!
Ingredients
Water
1 tsp. Arrowroot
2 cloves Garlic, crushed
3/4 cup Heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Large onion, sliced
2 tbsp. Butter
18 oz. Package mushrooms, sliced
4 3/4 1 inch boneless pork chops
Method
01
Season both sides of the pork with salt and pepper. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to a large skillet and cook pork on each side for 2-3 minutes. Remove meat from skillet and transfer to a plate. Cover with foil.
02
Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Add sliced onions and season with a pinch of salt. Cook stirring often to make sure the onions do not burn (about 10 minutes). Add mushrooms and garlic. Continue to cook until desired tenderness.
03
In a small bowl whisk together arrowroot and water (if using). Whisk in cream. Add to skillet and place pork back in the skillet. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes uncovered or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
