These cupcakes look so impressive but are actually so easy to make. You could have these done before your aunt can finish decorating her first sugar cookie. Pipe a loose swirl of frosting on top of each cupcake to resemble a strand of Christmas lights. Arrange candies along the strand to resemble Christmas lights. Cool!
Ingredients
Mini chocolate beans
Black decorating gel
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
1 cup Granulated sugar
8 oz. Cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups Heavy cream
Cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box
Method
01
Preheat oven to 350℉ and line two muffin tins with cupcake liners. Make cupcake batter according to package instructions and fill liners 3/4 full with batter. Bake until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean, 18 minutes. Let cool completely.
02
Make cream cheese frosting: In a large bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside. In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and salt until light and fluffy. Gently fold in whipped cream.
03
Transfer to a piping bag or large Ziploc bag. Frost cupcakes, making sure they are a good height. Trace a black line around frosting with decorating gel. Stick chocolate beans along the black line, imitating rainbow lights.
